Performance & Master Class Sponsorship

Manhattan School of Music presents more than 600 performances a year, in genres ranging from opera, to Afro-Cuban jazz, to classical and contemporary orchestral works, to musical theater. The performances—many of which are reviewed in publications such as the New York Times, Opera News, and DownBeat—are of the highest quality, and most are free and open to the public. Each season, world-renowned visiting artists offer master classes, giving students the opportunity to play for and observe musicians of the stature of Thomas Hampson, Marilyn Horne, Randy Brecker, and Lang Lang.

By sponsoring an opera production, concert, or master class, donors not only give critical support to the School’s artistic mission, but also fund some of the finest musical events in New York City.

“With the traditional high vocal standards of the Manhattan School’s Opera
Theater in full play, the entire performance was close to perfection.”
—Peter G. Davis, Musical America John Musto’s Later the Same Evening,
December 2008

Sponsorship of Orchestral Performances

Venue: John C. Borden Auditorium

Sponsors receive marquee billing, name on all promotional materials, six complimentary tickets to the performance, and a post-concert reception with the conductor, musicians, and special guests.

“It was inspiring to hear this youthful work played by young, gifted and palpably enthusiastic musicians.”
—Anthony Tommasini, New York Times

Sponsorship of Jazz Performances

Venues: John C. Borden Auditorium and
The William R. and Irene D. Miller Recital Hall

Series sponsors receive a complimentary performance by a jazz trio at an occasion of the donor’s choice, such as a party, retreat, or board meeting.

“To describe the feeling in the hall as electric or excited or with high anticipation would be an understatement. This was not just another concert by MSM’s renowned Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra (under the direction of multi-Grammy-nominated Bobby Sanabria). This was a milestone event long to be remembered as one of the concerts of 2008!”
—Eugene Marlow, Jazz.com

Venues: John C. Borden Auditorium, Gordon K. and Harriet Greenfield Hall, and The William R. and Irene D. Miller Recital Hall

Sponsors receive marquee billing, name on all promotional materials, six complimentary tickets to the master class, and an invitation to a reception with the artist.
