Manhattan School of Music presents more than 600 performances a year, in genres ranging from opera, to Afro-Cuban jazz, to classical and contemporary orchestral works, to musical theater. The performances—many of which are reviewed in publications such as the New York Times, Opera News, and DownBeat—are of the highest quality, and most are free and open to the public. Each season, world-renowned visiting artists offer master classes, giving students the opportunity to play for and observe musicians of the stature of Thomas Hampson, Marilyn Horne, Randy Brecker, and Lang Lang.
By sponsoring an opera production, concert, or master class, donors not only give critical support to the School’s artistic mission, but also fund some of the finest musical events in New York City.
