Distinguished Alumni Award Honorees share their journeys and advice for professional success in this interactive workshop sponsored by the Center for Music Entrepreneurship.  

Campus Tour: 5:00-5:45 PM | Meet in MSM Main Lobby
Take a trip down memory lane and also learn about new and updated spaces in this student-led campus tour


6:00-8:00 PM | Ades Performance Space
Enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in one of MSM's newest and most versatile performance venues. Meet up with old friends, make new ones, and visit with current faculty and staff. At 7 PM, we will toast the accomplishments of some of your colleagues during a brief Distinguished Alumni Awards presentation.

Conclude your evening with a concert held exclusively for alumni showcasing the talents of current MSM students.

Adolphus Hailstork (BM '65, MM '66, Composition)
Composer; eminent scholar and Professor at Old Dominion University; established the Manhattan School of Music “Adolphus Hailstork - Mary Weaver Scholarship” 

Susan Quittmeyer (MM '78, Voice)
Metropolitan Opera artist and international opera singer and Faculty at Rutgers University 

Steve Turre (MM '88, Jazz Trombone)
Jazz innovator, trombonist and seashellist; composer and arranger; Faculty at The Juilliard School; former Faculty at Manhattan School of Music

David Wolfsohn (DMA '84, Piano)
Partner, Duane Morris LLP and Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers

We will also honor the 2017 recipients of the MSM Presidential Medal for Distinguished Faculty Service: Carol Ann Aicher (MM '90), John Hagen, and Joan Patenaude-Yarnell.
