Talking Circles is a new initiative at MSM spearheaded by Student Affairs to create dialogue and leadership on issues of diversity and social justice for a select group of student leaders. The program is rooted around the Native American tradition of the Talking Circle. It is hoped that students who participate in this retreat will improve their communication skills, become more practiced at social interaction, and be more effective at connecting to students from other cultures and backgrounds. This year, the Talking Circles overnight retreat will be held on January 21-22 2017 at the YMCA Greenkill Retreat Center in Huguenot, NY. There is no cost to participate.
The two-day retreat, sponsored by Department of Student Affairs (no cost to you), is for MSM students who are committed to making positive change within the immediate community and see themselves as change agents for the university. This is an opportunity to encourage growth in student leaders.
To apply for the opportunity to participate, please fill out the accompanying form here - All you need to do is hit submit and we will have an electronic copy of your application. Applications are received on a first-come, first-served basis.
