Chris Jones

President

Hey everyone! My name is Chris Jones and I am from Toronto, Canada. I am a Senior year student studying Classical Double Bass Performance and I am also Co-President of your Student Council! I decided to join Student Council for a number of reasons, but what really attracted me to the organization were all the incredible opportunities that it offered to learn, to grow and to meet new people. Joining Student Council was a big step out of my comfort zone at the time, but it has helped me tremendously and it is therefore my goal to reach out to all the people who would like to get involved, but might be unsure as I once was. After I graduate, I plan to continue my studies and continue my journey along the path of becoming a professional orchestral musician. Music aside, I am a huge hockey fan, I love working out, spending time with friends, and exploring NYC!

Dudley Raine

Vice President

Hi! My name is Dudley Raine, I am a sophomore violist, and the Vice President of MSM's Student Council.  I joined this organization out of a desire to work for the betterment of communication between staff and students.  My long term goal while being a part of Student Council is to help student involvement increase.  After graduating, I would like to continue studying and performing music.  Outside of being a musician, I enjoy competitive running, hanging out with friends, and exploring the Big Apple.

Veronica Mac

Secretary

Hi everyone! My name is Veronica Mak and I am currently a sophomore, majoring in Classical Voice! I am very excited to be Student Council's Secretary this school year :) Being a part of MSM's Student Council has been an absolute joy and honor while I've been here. We, as students, can contribute so much to our institution and this organization has helped me voice my own opinion. My ultimate goal coming out of this experience is to ensure a strong community in our school throughout our social and student advocacy events. In the large scheme of life, performing for a living would be the greatest gift. I cannot wait to see where the future holds for StuCo this year :)

Kenny Chauby

Communications Liaison & Orchestral Sr. Rep.

Hey everyone! My name is Kenny Chauby and I am a junior at MSM studying classical trumpet. As Student Council’s Senior Orchestral Representative and Communications Liaison, my priority is serving the student population. I became interested in the activity within the Student Affairs department my freshman year. Working alongside the other Student Council members, we have been a fundamental element to the positive student experience at MSM through school wide events and student advocacy initiatives. I am always looking to improve all aspects of community at MSM that starts from the students and runs through the administration. Coming from a small Upstate New York town, joining an active community within New York City is what excites me the most about an ever-changing music world.

Diego Fernandez

CGCHC Sr. Representative

Hi! My name is Diego Fernandez; I am a classical guitarist from Bolivia currently in my Junior year. I hold the position of Junior CGCHC (Classical Guitar, Clarinet, Harp and Composition) Representative. The reason I decided to join the Student Council is because I want to be a voice to the student body. Having this position I hope to attend to the needs and wishes of the students at MSM and work towards improving our experience here. In my time at MSM I hope to improve my technique, musicality and gain as much knowledge as I can about this gargantuan universe we call music. Once I graduate I plan to continue my musical studies abroad and eventually go back to my home country to foment and support the musical scene there. When I'm not practicing my hobbies are: reading, writing, and, since I came to New York, exploring the concrete jungle, a task that I am nowhere near completing.
